D-Congress 2026 Key Takeaways From Our Breakout Sessions

At D-Congress, we hosted several breakout sessions exploring how AI, data, and product information are reshaping modern commerce. While each session had a different focus, a few common themes emerged: strong data foundations, organizational change, and the importance of maintaining control over customer experience in an AI-driven world.

Here are some of the key insights.

Breakout session with Voyado Agentic AI Reshaping E-Commerce

This session with Avensia, Voyado, Cervera, Kitchn and Tillboards, explored how Agentic AI is beginning to reshape e-commerce, creating new opportunities but also new risks.

  • The risks of Agentic AI. If not managed carefully, retailers risk losing control over brand, customer data, and the customer experience.
  • Exploring the off-site customer journey. Avensia provided hands-on examples of the differences between AI-controlled off-site commerce and retailer-built ChatGPT apps that offer greater flexibility and ownership.
  • Reflecting on the on-site experience. The industry is entering an inflection point toward a new discovery UI. Voyado offered a sneak peek and demo of their soon-to-be-released discovery agent.
  • What can be achieved now? Cervera, Kitchn and Tillbords proved that remarkable outcomes can already be achieved with AI and showed how far they’ve come with implementing a great customer experience on their sites.

Breakout session with Contentsquare Data-Driven Success in Practice

Together with Lindex and HFN, Avensia and Contentsquare discussed what actually works and what doesn’t when it comes to being a data-driven company in practice.

  • Ensure management support. Becoming a data-driven organization must be initiated and supported by senior management
  • Don't expect change overnight. The transformation from campaign- or marketing-driven initiatives to insight-driven approaches takes time and will significantly impact an organization.
  • Involve your team members. To make the necessary adjustments to ensure that, for example, campaigns achieve the desired results, team members must be granted the mandate.
  • Kill your darlings. Most of the tests will be failures/learnings, but keep on testing and retesting.

Breakout session with Occtoo Master Product Data and Agentic Readiness

A deep dive into agentic commerce with Alligo, Occtoo, and Avensia. In a future shaped by AI agents and automated purchasing decisions, product data becomes even more critical.

  • Agentic Commerce is nothing new. In many ways, agentic commerce can be seen as just another version of punch-out/EDI-based commerce.

  • Product information needs to be accessible and ready. A strong master product dataset must include pricing, logistics, campaigns, agreements, and reviews.

  • Ensure your platform is the right place to host agents. While your e-commerce platform may contain your online information, it is not always built to hold all the information that may be required.

Breakout session with Norce AI – From Hype to Impact in B2B

AI is rapidly reshaping B2B commerce, with AI agents increasingly acting as buyers instead of humans. In this session, Avensia and Norce asked B2B leaders a key question: How prepared are you actually for AI-driven commerce?

  • Agent-driven buying works differently. Decisions are based on data, rules, and friction, not relationships or habits.
  • A critical foundation is vital. This includes structured product data, transparent pricing, and real-time availability, and without them, AI initiatives won’t deliver real value.
  • AI transformation is organizational, not just technical. It requires aligned data, platforms, and ways of working.
  • The benefits of AI for B2B. AI can already automate support, shorten quote-to-order, improve product discovery, and scale digital sales
